WILDSIDE
J. EDDIE PECK
as Sutton Hollister
Sutton Hollister, the youngest
of the Wildside Five, was Brodie’s son raised in Boston by an aunt.
Despite his Eastern upbringing, Sutton’s prowess with a six shooter matches
Brodie’s. He sometimes smarts under the stigma of lacking the history
together that the others have. In the first episode, he wonders how
he'll stand up when he's tested in a real fight. Sutton has an ongoing
flirtation with Cally Oaks [Meg Ryan], the editor of the Wildside County
newspaper. Peck and William Smith maintained an engaging on-screen
relationship as father and son competitive sharpshooters who were still
getting to know one another.
J. Eddie Peck came to Wildside
after a minor role in Dynasty. He followed Wildside with other
day and night soap roles: a year in Dallas [1989], one season
in Days of Our Lives and several seasons in Young and the Restless.
He’s also had roles in a few B movies and was a panelist on the ‘90’s version
of Match Game. In 2000 he joined the cast of All My
Children as the fifth or sixth (or more) incarnation of the youngest
of the Martin children, Jake (formerly Joey). The character must
be at least ten years younger than Peck who was born in 1958 but he doesn't
look a bit too old for the part.
