Although we liked him best in Westerns, Peter did some really superior work in uniform.

AMONG THE MISSING
The NiteOwl library
is missing these two Peter Brown war dramas. Can you help?
| KRAFT SUSPENSE THEATER "ONE TIGER TO A HILL" [12-3-64] Maybe a sequel to Action of the Tiger |
| DANNY THOMAS HOUR episode "THE ENEMY" also starring Sammy Davis Jr. [11-20-67]****** |
******Our most lamented missing show
THE ENEMY with Sammy Davis & Peter BrownUnlike his Laredo buddy William Smith, Peter Brown fought almost exclusively for the good guys, possibly due to his all-American good looks. The one occasion in which he played an enemy soldier actually relied on that same all-American look. In the episode of The Danny Thomas Hour "The Enemy", Peter played a German spy in an American squadron. When a spy is suspected, a soldier who knows more about music than baseball is under suspicion. Peter is finally unmasked by Sammy Davis Jr. who goads Peter into calling him a Nigger. Only Peter pronounces it Niger (to rhyme with tiger). Sammy Davis screams back "It's Nigger" and adds an epithet. [At that point the memories of the only two of us who can remember the episode diverge. One remembers Sammy shooting Peter, the other does not.]
If anyone out there knows where to get a copy of this episode, please let us know. Peter Brown doesn't have a copy either and would like one. His friendship with Sammy Davis would make this an appreciated momento. It's particularly hard to find because the Danny Thomas Hour lasted less than a full season. It was a mixed bag of variety, reruns of Thomas comedy series and some drama, including "THE ENEMY". We'd be willing to pay for transfer from 16 mm to video.
